But for those who think this is just good news, hold on before rejoicing: Quebec would publish on June 7 2023 the new requirements for the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP), which should cost about CAD500,000 to investors, and now require an intermediate French language (level 7 out of 12). While QIIP was perhaps the most popular investor program in the world at the turn of the century, its hegemony started to be eroded due to competition from other nations launching programs to recruit foreign investors. As a vast majority of investor programs around the world, the QIIP did not have any language requirement, and its attraction remained very high until the program was suspended in 2019. Now that QIIP would reopen with a French-language requirement and a significantly increased cost, let’s see if the popularity of QIIP would come back: would you be interested to apply?
